About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Training and Development Manager to join our team at Reliance Retail. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to drive training initiatives that will enhance the skills and performance of our store staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To act as a coach and mentor for the store staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • To create strong and consistent brand DNA and standardization across stores, ensuring that all staff members understand and embody the company's values and culture.
  • To serve as a quality controller for the stores, ensuring that all standards are met and exceeded.
  • To develop and implement the induction process for new staff, creating a comprehensive onboarding program that sets them up for success.
  • To conduct regular visits to the stores, interacting with staff and understanding the ground realities of each location.
  • To track and measure the success of training programs, generating meaningful reports and insights that inform future initiatives.
  • To review and redesign training programs and interventions based on business and store requirements, ensuring that they remain relevant and effective.
  • To stay up-to-date with new interventions in store trainings, incorporating best practices and innovations into our approach.
  • To exhibit strong budgetary controls on the training expense, ensuring that we maximize the return on investment.
  • To maintain and upgrade relevant training material and records, ensuring that they are accurate and current.

Requirements:

  • A degree in HRM, Psychology, or a related field; additional certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong business acumen and sensitivity towards different brand essence.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop others to the next level.
  • High energy levels, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Effective listening and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and communicate it effectively.
  • The ability to do objective reviews of individuals and stores, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Empathy and the ability to understand and relate to the needs and perspectives of others.
  • Good planning and organizing skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basis budgetary controls and monitoring, with the ability to track expenses and optimize returns.
  • A sharp mind, with the ability to understand business linkages and make connections between different concepts and ideas.
  • A proven track record of training delivery and creating training materials, with a portfolio of successful initiatives.
  • Explicit examples of training interventions that have created quality benchmarks and improved performance.
  • Good leadership skills, with the ability to drive and motivate performance through effective coaching skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders.
