The role of Deputy General Manager of Human Resources involves spearheading the HR function for Quality & Operations functions at a manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic HR Partner: Plan, implement, and evaluate employee relations and human resource programs and practices. Collaborate with business leaders to understand business needs and align people strategy accordingly.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Recruit a talented workforce within target timelines to ensure business continuity. Identify manpower requirements based on business priorities and plan accordingly. Ensure best-in-class onboarding experience for new joiners.
- HR Manpower Planning and Budgeting: Assist in budgeting process of all HR items (manpower costs, operational expenses) and headcount requirement. Periodically review and monitor actual spend vis-à-vis approved budgets, optimize manpower utilization, and analyze trends to ensure manpower costs remain within budget. Identify opportunities for savings and realize periodic savings.
- Performance Management: Drive continuous performance management and annual compensation reviews for the site. Train line managers on goal setting and sharing performance feedback. Enable business leaders to make informed decisions regarding promotions, compensation revisions, etc.
- Talent Management: Implement periodic talent management reviews and ensure development/retention plans are executed. Create and implement succession plans for critical roles. Identify talent priorities, understand development needs, and drive programs to address these gaps.
- Learning and Development: Promote a culture of learning and high performance. Identify training needs, prepare training calendars, and evaluate training efficacy. Collaborate with corporate HR teams to implement various training programs for the site.
- HR Compliance and Statutory Obligations: Ensure HR legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable statutory laws, maintaining records, and representing the organization at various associations related to human resources. Liaise with statutory bodies and government agencies to maintain compliance.
- Labour Management: Maintain harmonious and productive industrial relations environments. Monitor productivity and identify areas for cost savings. Ensure statutory compliances are followed by manpower vendors. Foster a healthy and productive work environment, address employee grievances timely, and take disciplinary actions as needed.
- Employee Engagement and Wellbeing: Implement initiatives and activities to impact key drivers of employee engagement. Lead wellbeing initiatives at the site to achieve holistic wellbeing for employees.
- HR Operations: Supervise and review all HR operations pertaining to the employee lifecycle, aiming to streamline and increase efficiency.
- Guide and Coach HR Team Members: Develop next-level leaders, enhance stakeholder management, and guide team members to take higher responsibility.
