Software Engineer in Test Job Overview

This role involves working on the design, development and maintenance of automated test suites for web and mobile applications.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in Cypress for end-to-end UI testing and proficient in C# and/or TypeScript with solid object-oriented programming fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement automated tests using Cypress for end-to-end UI testing
  • Develop and extend test frameworks in C# and TypeScript for API, integration and unit testing
  • Configure and schedule nightly executions of UI tests using GitHub Actions
  • Analyse test results, triage failures and collaborate with developers to resolve defects
  • Write clear maintainable and reusable test code adhering to best practices and coding standards
  • Continuously improve test coverage performance and reliability
  • Mentor junior QA engineers on automation tools and techniques
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in test automation for web applications
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cypress for end-to-end testing
  • Proficiency in C# and/or TypeScript with solid object-oriented programming fundamentals
  • Experience building and maintaining test frameworks e.g. NUnit xUnit Jest
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps: pipelines repos artifacts and test plans
  • Working knowledge of AWS: provisioning IAM and basic troubleshooting
  • Comfortable with Git and modern development workflows feature branches pull requests code reviews
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
