Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GIS Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geospatial technology and software development.

The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain custom GIS applications and web-based mapping solutions using ESRI ArcGIS Suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online.

Key responsibilities include analyzing user requirements to develop and optimize geospatial workflows and tools, integrating GIS applications with various enterprise systems and APIs, developing scripts and tools for data automation, analysis, and processing using Python and ArcPy, performing spatial data modeling, geoprocessing, and complex spatial analysis, maintaining and optimizing spatial databases, including PostGIS and SQL Server with spatial extensions, creating interactive maps, dashboards, and visualizations using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or Mapbox, conducting performance tuning, testing, and documentation of GIS solutions, providing support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues and enhancements, and staying updated with emerging GIS technologies, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in GIS development is also required. Additionally, the successful candidate must have proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite, experience migrating Geocortex Essentials and custom HTML5 web applications into ESRI's JavaScript API version 4, experience working with VertiGIS Studio Suite and ESRI Experience Builder, strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or .NET for GIS applications, experience with spatial databases: PostGIS, SQL Server, and Oracle Spatial, hands-on experience with FME, GDAL, or other ETL/data transformation tools, knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs, experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems, familiarity with open-source GIS platforms, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication and documentation skills, certifications in GIS, experience working with cloud GIS platforms, familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
