Enterprise Risk Management Role

This position requires a research analyst to conduct in-depth analysis, benchmarking, and research to support risk assessments and strategic decision-making. The role involves analyzing balance sheet data, interpreting trends and insights on capital adequacy, net interest margins, cost-to-income ratios, credit costs, gross non-performing assets, and net non-performing assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business/Financials:
    • Conduct comprehensive balance sheet analyses of the bank against peers, including systemically important financial institutions, universal banks, and non-banking financial companies.
    • Perform ratio analysis and interpret trends and insights on asset quality, profitability, efficiency, and liquidity.
    • Track and analyze peer disclosures, investor presentations, call transcripts, and annual reports for risk and performance insights.
    • Research and review business models of peers across retail, microfinance, housing finance, and other segments.
    • Prepare structured notes on emerging sector risks, competitive strategies, and market positioning and deliver insights on yields, risk-adjusted returns, portfolio vulnerabilities, key risk drivers, etc.
    • Monitor various macroeconomic developments, including GDP growth, inflation rates, interest rates, credit growth, etc.
    • Assist in implementing risk-based pricing in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Customer:
    • Prepare sectoral risk outlooks for housing finance, microfinance, gold loans, and vehicle loans, including early warning signals from global and domestic economic trends.
    • Prepare and publish integrated risk scores for key business units and engage with them to ensure implementation of corrective measures.
    • Contribute to risk posture reports, board-level dashboards, and other reporting aspects on risk management at various committees and forums.
    • Engage with regional leadership teams, branch supervisors, and officers to understand field-level insights on customer behavior and staff capabilities.
  • Innovation & Learning:
    • Stay updated with relevant laws and regulations related to the banking industry.
    • Contribute to content preparation and learning materials for various risk-related training programs.
    • Pursue relevant courses for cross-learning and prepare for growth opportunities.
    • Visit branches to gain insights into banking operations and area-related issues.
