Job Opportunity:

The Fundraising Director will lead fundraising efforts across various segments, including high-net-worth individuals, corporate social responsibility, foundations, and digital giving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a multi-year fundraising strategy with targets by segment and program
  • Manage the full donor lifecycle: research, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal/upgrade
  • Design long-term giving vehicles, such as major gifts, challenge funds, grants, cause marketing campaigns, events, and peer-to-peer initiatives
  • Build a balanced pipeline of early, mid, and late-stage donors

Partnerships & External Relationships:

  • Represent the organization with credibility and build trust with diverse stakeholders
  • Secure strategic partnerships with corporations, foundations, and influential networks in India and abroad
  • Co-create customized propositions, including naming opportunities, programmatic investments, research/endowment funds

Brand & Communications:

  • Partner with communications to run an integrated brand + fundraising calendar
  • Oversee high-quality proposals, decks, impact reports, and ensure clear narratives and strong evidence
  • Develop crisis-ready messaging and success-story pipelines that convert interest to commitments

Team, Systems & Governance:

  • Lead fundraising efforts across the organization
  • Collaborate with global teams and implement a customer relationship management system or donor management system
  • Establish clear standard operating procedures, approval matrices, and data hygiene
  • Ensure compliance with international requirements, including child safeguarding and ethical fundraising standards

Budgeting, Reporting & KPIs:

  • Own the fund development budget and track return on investment by channel
  • Provide monthly board-ready dashboards, including funds raised vs target, pipeline health, and donor retention/upgrade

Success Metrics:

  • Board-approved multi-year strategy and year-1 operating plan with segment-wise targets
  • Live CRM with X number of qualified prospects (target to be set with leadership)
