Job Description

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Specialist in High Voltage Direct Current Flexible AC Transmission Systems Control to support our team.

The Energy Systems Team is looking for a dynamic Specialist with expertise in High Voltage Direct Current Flexible AC Transmission Systems Control field.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Collaborate with our technical team on HVDC FACTS Control system design and provide technical leadership.
  • Develop control strategy, implement, and test in PSCAD for FACTS HVDC.
  • Engineer software solutions for measurement strategy in MATLAB, configure, and test measurement signals in cubicle with RTDS.
  • Engineer open closed loop control and HMI in MATLAB and generate code for selected Hardware.
  • Test Control software hardware with RTDS, support FAT and FPT with clients.
  • Participate in commissioning of FACTS HVDC control systems equipment.
  • Coordinate between HVDC and HVAC substation control in terms of interfacing engineering.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Master or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering preferably high voltage or power systems engineering from recognized University.
  • Should have 10 to 12 years of experience in design and planning activities for FACTS and HVDC projects.
  • Experience in areas of control especially in development of DC control concepts for HVDC.
  • Experienced in preparing technical specifications, design calculations, preparation of reports, drawings, and bill of materials for HVDC FACTS HVAC power system projects.
  • Experienced in resolving site queries, attending site meetings, and performing site inspections during construction phase of HVDC FACTS projects.
  • Effectively utilize project management tools and software to manage costs, maintain schedules, track project progress, and manage HVDC FACTS design projects.
  • Experienced in performing technical economic and environmental studies.
  • Knowledge of various international standards for HVDC FACTS systems and equipment.
  • Excellent English skills oral and written is very important.
