Financial Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Collections Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and collecting overdue accounts in a shared services environment.

Your primary focus will be on working closely with internal and external business partners to meet goals and tasks assigned in an ever-changing business environment. You will assist in the design, implementation, and deployment of policies and procedures as well as streamline current collection processes.

The ideal candidate will be customer-centric, creative, and solution-oriented while delivering timely and high-quality results. They will also be able to pursue multiple concurrent initiatives and thrive in a fast-paced business environment.

  • Ensure timely collection of invoices and routine follow-up of assigned accounts, providing a high level of professionalism in all communications.
  • Work in conjunction with sales and client services teams to manage client accounts and deliver top-quality customer service to both internal and external business partners.
  • Research contracts, past emails, payments, and other documentation to ensure all knowledge of the client matter is understood prior to beginning collection efforts.
  • Research short-payments and unapplied cash and follow through with appropriate measures as required to bring the issue to closure.
  • Research and reporting of payment history as requested by client or personnel.
Requirements
  • 5 years experience working in a business-to-business collections environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong customer focus.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced business environment.
