
Project Management Specialist

As a seasoned project management specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and customer expectations. This role requires strong governance, budget management, schedule management, capital expenditure tracking & stakeholder communication skills to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual and statutory requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and enforcing product lifecycle management policies consistently across all projects.
- Maintaining meticulous oversight of project statuses and providing key insights to senior management for effective decision-making.
- Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, including bank guarantees, insurances, and statutory requirements, working collaboratively with partners.
- Tracking project and contractual timelines rigorously and advising on liquidated damages penalties, extensions of time, and recovery or extension of bank guarantees as necessary.
Budget & Capex Tracking
- Assisting in developing project budgets in collaboration with design, projects, and supply chain management teams.
- Facilitating the generation and approval of non-fundable approvals requests in line with approved project budgets.
- Creating and managing comprehensive budget trackers for projects and promptly notifying senior management of any cost overruns.
- Coordinating with project and supply chain management teams to develop capital expenditure forecasts for effective project planning and resource allocation.
Customer Handling, Reporting & Documentation
- Compiling detailed management information system reports for senior management meetings and generating progress updates highlighting key achievements and challenges.
- Developing and maintaining project schedules aligned with customer commitments and preparing detailed reports for customers and external investors showcasing project progress and future projections.
- Leading meetings with customers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and manage expectations.
- Establishing and maintaining communication channels to oversee the design process through to construction issue resolution in collaboration with customer subject matter experts.
- Coordinating design and procurement for customer-related packages alongside internal and external stakeholders.
- Compiling and disseminating reports and minutes of meeting to ensure transparency.
To succeed in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in engineering, a postgraduate diploma in project management from NICMAR/RICS, or a master's degree. A minimum of 6-7 years of experience in program/project management, preferably in the data center industry/sector, is also required. You should possess a strong understanding of product lifecycle management policies, project governance, and contract management. Proven experience in budget management and financial forecasting is essential. Additionally, excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are necessary. Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Docs, and Power BI, is a plus. The ability to multitask and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is crucial.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- A postgraduate diploma in project management from NICMAR/RICS or a master's degree.
- A minimum of 6-7 years of experience in program/project management, preferably in the data center industry/sector.
