Job Title: Lead Well Planning Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned well planning professional to lead the design, planning, and execution support of complex wells.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Well Planning & Design
    • Develop well designs for vertical, deviated, multilateral, or cluster wells, including location selection support.
    • Prepare detailed Basis of Design (BoD), risk registers, and contingency plans.
    • Design fit-for-purpose and cost-optimized completions for production.
  • Engineering & Cost Control
    • Generate drilling and completion Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and monitor actual vs budget.
    • Assist in developing Scope of Work and technical specifications for Drilling & Well Completion equipment.
    • Select equipment and materials in collaboration with procurement and service vendors.
    • Evaluate and apply new technologies relevant to our operations.
  • Operational Support
    • Provide real-time technical support to the execution team during drilling, casing, cementing, and completions.
    • Conduct post-well reviews and implement lessons learned.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Work closely with subsurface teams for well targeting and zonal optimization.
    • Coordinate with HSE, land access, and surface facility teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure all well designs comply with relevant regulations.
    • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permits and approvals.
  • Team Management & Leadership
    • Lead a team of well engineers and mentor junior staff.
    • Manage interfaces with consultants, contractors, and service providers.
