SQL Server Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to upgrade, migrate, and maintain mission-critical databases on the cloud. The ideal candidate will lead database upgrade projects, design high availability solutions, and implement migrations with minimal downtime.

  • Lead and execute database upgrade projects from legacy versions to the latest version.
  • Design, configure, and manage high availability groups in production environments.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to the cloud with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, including queries, indexes, statistics, and execution plans.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of high availability solutions and other HA/DR technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with database migration (cloud-based or hybrid).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
