Job Overview:

  • Provide expert technical support for cloud-based databases and related services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, including performance problems, query optimization, replication, and availability concerns.
  • Optimize SQL database performance in the cloud, ensuring efficient operations and minimal downtime.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
  • Lead database migrations from on-premise systems to cloud-based platforms.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database designs, queries, and data models for cloud environments.
  • Monitor and report on database performance, uptime, and other key metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and auditing.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven expertise working with Azure SQL Database and other cloud-based database services.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with database automation, scripting, and performance monitoring tools in the Azure environment.
  • Knowledge of Azure networking, security practices, and disaster recovery strategies for databases.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Active Directory, RBAC, network security groups, and other Azure security configurations.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell, CLI, and other automation tools to streamline database management.
