Job Title: Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain database collections and related data on MongoDB Atlas in the cloud.
  • Monitor cluster health parameters including CPU utilization, memory usage, query execution times, replication lag, load balancing, and query optimization.
  • Identify stress areas and profile queries to suggest improvements.
  • Deploy data elements - collections and data - to the database after ensuring proper approvals.
  • Upgrade and migrate various MongoDB versions across platforms.
  • Develop expertise in advanced queries, conditionals, and aggregation framework.
  • Participate in scalability testing for a responsive database.
  • Understand HA and DR strategies with reference to MongoDB.
  • Utilize Mongo utilities like mongostat, mongotop, mongoperf, mongodump, and mongorestore.
  • Adhere to SDLC processes like Agile and Scrum.

Additional Requirements:

  • Good understanding of database security in the context of MongoDB.
  • Working knowledge of Object-Oriented programming using Java/J2EE, n-Tier Architecture, WebServices (REST APIs, SOAP).
  • Familiarity with the full web technology stack (Rest, API integration, Version control- Git, authentication schemes).

Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 6-8 years of IT experience with at least 2 years working with MongoDB, preferably Atlas.
  • Experience with cloud environments.
  • Ability to create highly scalable web applications.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
