High-Performance Computing Specialist

This is a highly challenging and rewarding role that requires the right combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills.

  • You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure to deliver maximum performance for demanding workloads.

We are seeking an experienced High-Performance Computing Specialist who has a deep understanding of HPC systems, architectures, and software stacks. You should have excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8–10 years of enterprise Linux administration experience and over 5 years of hands-on experience managing large-scale HPC clusters.

HPC Cluster Management & Optimization

As an HPC Cluster Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining HPC environments, including compute, storage, and network components.
  • Configuring and optimizing Slurm, PBS Pro, or other workload managers/schedulers for efficient job scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Implementing performance tuning for CPU, GPU, memory, I/O, and network subsystems to meet workload demands.
Linux Administration

As a seasoned Linux administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • Administering enterprise-grade Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu) in large-scale compute environments.
  • Managing kernel upgrades, patching, and security hardening.
  • Troubleshooting kernel-level and system-level issues for performance and stability.
Automation & Configuration Management

As an Automation expert, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks/roles for automated provisioning, configuration, and patching of HPC systems.
  • Integrating Ansible with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
  • Automating cluster deployment and environment consistency across hundreds of nodes.
Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Support

As a Monitoring expert, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and maintaining monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Ganglia).
  • Troubleshooting complex HPC workloads, MPI communication issues, and application performance bottlenecks.
  • Providing Tier-3 escalation support for Linux/HPC-related incidents.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8–10 years of enterprise Linux administration experience.
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience managing large-scale HPC clusters.
  • Strong knowledge of HPC systems, architectures, and software stacks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts.
