Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Lines Underwriter to join our global team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in underwriting and managing complex financial lines business.

The role involves evaluating, analyzing, and pricing risk for clients across various industries. You will work closely with brokers, cedents, and internal stakeholders to deliver sustainable growth and profitability.

  • Risk Assessment & Underwriting: Evaluate and analyze submissions to identify potential risks and develop tailored solutions.
  • Structure, price, and negotiate reinsurance arrangements to meet client needs.
  • Portfolio Management: Grow and maintain a profitable book of business while monitoring market trends and emerging risks.
  • Contribute to product development and portfolio diversification initiatives to drive business growth.
  • Market Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry partners to drive business growth and expansion.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, negotiations, and industry forums.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with regional/global teams to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to training initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 7+ years in Liability/Financial Lines underwriting (insurance or reinsurance) with strong knowledge of the Indian market preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of D&O, PI, Cyber, and other specialty liability products.
  • Education: Graduate / Postgraduate, preferably with professional qualifications.
  • Required Skills:
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management.
  • Commercial acumen with strategic thinking ability.
