About the Role

This leadership position oversees the Internal Audit service, focusing on business risks from annual plan generation through delivering independent internal audits across the organization and conducting continuous monitoring and advisory activities.


Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure all audit work is delivered in line with IIA standards, industry best practice, and company-specific requirements.
  • Oversight of assessing whether significant business risks are identified and reported by management to the Board and Executive Management.
  • Oversight of assessing whether business risks are adequately controlled.
  • Challenge Executive Management to improve governance, risk management, and internal controls effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Audit Committee and senior management to identify and mitigate or minimize strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Oversight of developing and implementing a flexible, risk-based audit plan based on the company's risk universe and concerns identified by management and the Audit Committee.
  • Work with senior management to introduce cost-effective and efficient leading practices into the organization.
  • Maintain a professional internal audit staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience.
Functional Area Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance of the Audit Universe and associated business risk assessment from ongoing continuous monitoring activities.
  • Monitor existing and emerging business risks across the organization, including ongoing engagement with Executive level stakeholders and active monitoring of industry trends to maintain a strong understanding of the entity risk profile.
  • Leverage knowledge gained in leading the development of the half-yearly risk-based Internal Audit plan.
  • Oversee the delivery of the approved audit plan through acting as lead reviewer on a range of audits.
  • Specifically, oversee multiple engagements concurrently, with key focus areas across Operations, Finance, and Risk and Compliance.
  • Perform detailed review of work performed by the Lead Business Auditor throughout the end-to-end audit engagement.
  • May also be expected to take an active part in executing fieldwork depending on the nature of the engagement.
  • Oversee issue validation.
  • Oversee timely preparation of audit reporting for executive management, Management Committees, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with executive and management stakeholders across the organization.
  • Perform ad-hoc internal audit-related projects as required.
  • Contribute to the year-end financial audit with the external auditor as necessary.
  • Attend and represent Internal Audit at relevant Governance committees or working groups, including Audit Committees where agenda relates to work performed.
  • Design and maintain management information for the purposes of management balanced scorecard reporting.
  • Monitor internal methodology requirements and ensure consistency with IIA Standards and industry best practice.
  • Line management responsibilities managing and developing direct reports/junior staff as applicable.
  • Contribute to the recruitment process for Internal Audit function, including delivery of stage one interviews for new hires.
