Department Head - English Language Education

About the Opportunity

As a pivotal leader in our English language education program, you will play a key role in shaping academic direction and student success.

Main Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with academic leaders to design and refine the English curriculum, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and assessments.
  • Instructional Leadership: Provide guidance and support to English tutors, including lesson planning, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. Model effective teaching methods and promote best practices in English education.
  • Teacher Training and Development: Coordinate professional development opportunities for English tutors, including workshops, seminars, and peer observations. Mentor new tutors and provide ongoing feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Oversee tracking of student progress and performance in English, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions as needed.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate regularly with parents and other stakeholders regarding student progress, program updates, and upcoming events. Foster a positive and collaborative relationship with the community.
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage departmental resources, including instructional materials, technology tools, and learning resources. Identify resource needs and make recommendations for procurement or development.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure quality and consistency of English instruction across all classes and programs. Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to monitor program effectiveness and drive data-driven decision making.
