Job Title: Data Manager

As a seasoned professional in data management, you will be responsible for spearheading the design, implementation, and governance of data assets across the aviation business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive data lifecycle management strategies, encompassing acquisition, modeling, cataloguing, and governance.
  • Design and maintain intricate data models that support aviation operations and analytics, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
  • Manage metadata and data catalogue tools to facilitate discoverability and lineage tracking, enhancing data quality and integrity.
  • Deliver robust and secure data products on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation.
  • Apply foundational data transformation techniques using SQL and Python to prepare data for consumption, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals, fostering a culture of data-driven decision making.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in data management and governance, with expertise spanning all stages of the data lifecycle.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with complex data modeling techniques, including data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Proficiency in metadata management and data cataloguing tools, with a strong focus on data quality and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver data products within cloud ecosystems (AWS or Azure), with a proven track record of innovation and excellence.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for data manipulation and transformation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to distill complex data concepts into actionable insights.

Domain Expertise (Mandatory):

  • SAP ERP and MDG: Applied experience with core systems, particularly in master data governance and enterprise resource planning.
  • Aviation business knowledge: Ability to contextualize data within the aviation business landscape to drive insights and innovation.
  • Knowledge and experience of commercial aspects of Aviation industry: Deep understanding of customer location profitability, pricing strategies, and its impact on commercial performance.
