Job Description:

The ILM/SAP Archiving Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient data management strategies across complex SAP landscapes. This involves creating retention management strategies, system decommissioning projects, business process analysis, archive object implementation, metadata management, system assessments, troubleshooting, integration, and enhanced archiving capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Retention Management Strategies
    • Create and implement ILM Retention Management strategies, including Legal Hold, Case Management, and ILM Blocking.
  • System Decommissioning
    • Execute system decommissioning projects while ensuring compliance with data retention and audit requirements.
  • Business Process Analysis
    • Analyze and mitigate the impact of archiving on business processes and system performance.
  • Archive Object Implementation
    • Implement standard and custom archive objects, including purging and hybrid DVM solutions for technical and staging tables.
  • Metadata Management
    • Manage archive metadata and ADK file handling to ensure integrity and accessibility.
  • System Assessments
    • Conduct system assessments to identify DVM opportunities and define archiving strategies.
  • Troubleshooting
    • Troubleshoot archiving issues and provide solutions for open item closures.
  • Integration
    • Integrate Nearline Storage (SAP IQ) with archive servers and SAP systems, including administration and support.
  • Enhanced Archiving Capabilities
    • Utilize PBS tools such as NAA, Archive Add-on, and Content Link for enhanced archiving capabilities.
  • Implementation Experience
    • Prior implementation experience with SAP ILM Legal Hold, Case Management, and ILM Blocking in S/4HANA environments is desired.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Good experience in SAP Data Volume Management (DVM), including at least 1 year in an S/4HANA environment, is required.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Excellent understanding of SAP ILM and DVM concepts, architecture, and best practices.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience
    • At least 3 years of experience in SAP ILM and DVM implementation, configuration, and customization.
    • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and other SAP products is highly desirable.
  • Educational Background
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
