Job Description:

Chef Tournant Role

As a senior culinary professional, you will oversee the production of all kitchen sections, ensuring quality and consistency in our dishes. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to direct, coach, and evaluate team members effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in upscale hospitality, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position. A culinary school degree is required, and intermediate computer software skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs, coaches, supports, supervises, and evaluates all direct reports.
  • Maintains excellent food knowledge and understanding of culinary terms.
  • Prepares company recipes by following instructions provided by the corporate office, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Works efficiently and productively, completing tasks and coordinating team members effectively.
  • Coordinates and supervises all team members assigned to their section, assigning and delegating tasks accordingly.
  • Undertakes recipe reviews daily, maintaining recipe folders in immaculate condition.
  • Reports discrepancies to the immediate supervisor and ensures that public health regulations are followed according to company standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service and at least 2 years as Chef Tournant (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary school degree required.
  • Strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
