You could be the ideal candidate for a Group Underwriting role if you possess:

  • Advanced postgraduate or graduate qualifications with a deep understanding of the group health business
  • A minimum of 12-14 years' experience in insurance, accompanied by at least 6 years' experience in group underwriting
  • Strong skills in creating innovative plans and packages within the group health space, with a focus on digital journeys, process efficiency, and data analytics
  • Thorough knowledge of underwriting operations, workflow, and servicing models, including smart underwriting nudges to ensure effective quote engines and rating calculators with minimal leakages
  • The ability to motivate fellow underwriters to excel while supporting other stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Query, data analytics, SQL, or similar tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to make informed decisions swiftly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as negotiation skills
  • The capacity to thrive in environments that foster co-creation and collaboration
