Freight Forwarder Job Description

At our company, we are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the freight forwarding industry and be proficient in all aspects of freight forwarding operations.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with shipping carriers and airlines is essential, as is knowledge of World Geography, Major Shipping Ports, Lanes etc.

The ideal candidate will also have excellent negotiation skills and be able to obtain competitive pricing from shipping carriers and airlines. Additionally, they should have good knowledge of shipping documentation, Bills of Lading, AirWay Bills, Invoices, survey processes, insurance processes, etc.

Responsibilities:
1. Analyse RFQ's (Request for Quotations) from customers and prepare optimal solutions for shipping cargo.
2. Obtain competitive pricing from shipping carriers and airlines based on customer requirements.
3. Prepare method statements for action by the operations team.
4. Follow through on execution by transporter, shipping carrier, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the freight forwarding industry.
- Proficient in all aspects of freight forwarding operations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of World Geography, Major Shipping Ports, Lanes etc.
- Good knowledge of shipping documentation, Bills of Lading, AirWay Bills, Invoices, survey processes, insurance processes, etc.
