Deputy Manager Pharmacy

This leadership role oversees the daily operations of a pharmacy department, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant delivery of services.

  • Pharmacy Operations Management:
    • Prescription dispensing, medication inventory management, compounding, and medication therapy management services are overseen to ensure pharmacy services meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Staff Supervision and Training:
    • Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel in scheduling, duty assignments, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment conducive to professional growth and development.
  • Medication Safety and Quality Assurance:
    • Implement policies and procedures to ensure medication safety and minimize the risk of medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards and professional guidelines.
  • Pharmaceutical Procurement and Inventory Control:
    • Manage medication procurement, inventory control, and distribution processes, maintaining stock levels, monitoring expiration dates, optimizing turnover, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Patient Counseling and Education:
    • Provide medication counseling and education to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication instructions, potential side effects, drug interactions, and proper administration techniques.
  • Clinical Pharmacy Services:
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes through medication therapy management, anticoagulation management, antimicrobial stewardship, and chronic disease management programs.
