Job Title: Field Applications Engineer

MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce. We are seeking a highly skilled Field Applications Engineer to support our India sales function and customer base.

Job Summary

The Field Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to customers in India, working closely with the Sales, Product Marketing & Business Development teams to secure design wins with MACOM products. The successful candidate will have a strong background in RF Microwave technology and experience in RF Power, RF Analog/Small Signal, and other complimentary technologies fitting the Telecommunications and A&D markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regular site visits to existing and new customers to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Developing the best technical and commercial solution for a given project.
  • Identifying new design and product upselling opportunities.
  • Aligning customer design requirements with MACOM products and technology.
  • Providing guidance and input for customer proposals.
  • Giving technology demonstrations with MACOM evaluation boards and reference designs.
  • Managing and maintaining MACOM's engineering lab in Bangalore.
  • Assisting customers with architecture, schematic, and layout activities during design.
  • Training customers, channel partners, and distributor FAEs on the benefits and features of MACOM products.
  • Strongly advocating for MACOM products and technology.
  • Ability to travel internationally to receive technical training.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering specializing in RF Microwave.
  • 5-10 years of experience in systems design, hardware product validation, and characterization for telecommunications or aerospace & defense applications.
  • Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment.
  • Possess technical skills to complete microwave measurements for troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge in tuning high-power amplifiers and circuit optimization.
  • High-power RF experience required with either GaN HEMT, Si LDMOS, or GaAs MESFET, GaAs pHEMT.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debug skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (must be fluent in English).
  • Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and work independently.
