Job Summary

Financial leadership role available for a highly motivated individual with experience in managing financial systems, statutory compliance and risk management.

The successful candidate will oversee the establishment of effective financial management systems, ensure timely financial reporting and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management
  1. Establish and manage accounting systems and processes for timely bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Indian statutory requirements.
  3. Monitor expenses, budgets, and cash flow to support sustainable business operations.
  4. Liaise with our Australian finance team to support consolidated reporting, audits, and cross-border financial coordination.
Payroll, Taxation, and Statutory Compliance
  1. Oversee employee payroll processing and ensure compliance with all applicable Indian labour, tax, and provident fund laws.
  2. Manage TDS, GST (if applicable), and other statutory filings with relevant authorities.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation for audits and ensure all statutory registers are up-to-date.
Insurance and Risk Management
  1. Lead the procurement, review, and renewal of essential business insurance policies, including public liability insurance and cybersecurity insurance.
  2. Liaise with brokers and insurers to ensure coverage levels are appropriate to our operational risk profile.
  3. Monitor insurance compliance obligations under lease agreements and service contracts.
  4. Maintain insurance documentation and ensure prompt response to incidents or claims.
Financial Instruments and Banking Infrastructure
  1. Establish and manage banking relationships, ensuring optimal account structures for operational efficiency.
  2. Ensure compatibility with accounting platforms such as Xero, including potential use of direct bank feeds.
  3. Support the setup of digital payment systems and vendor management tools.
Procurement and Office Operations
  1. Manage procurement of IT equipment, software licenses, and office supplies.
  2. Coordinate with co-working providers and vendors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  3. Ensure value-for-money and cost efficiency across administrative expenditures.
Administrative Leadership and Record-Keeping
  1. Develop and maintain internal administrative policies and workflows.
  2. Oversee documentation of employee records, contracts, lease agreements, and regulatory filings.
  3. Support onboarding and coordination with external consultants (legal, tax, compliance, HR, etc.).
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field (CA/CPA/MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in finance, accounting, or business operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian labour law, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
  • Familiarity with risk management and insurance procurement, particularly in service-sector businesses.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g. Xero) and digital banking tools.
  • Proven ability to operate in a start-up or small business environment.
