SCADA Engineer for Digital Transformation

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled SCADA engineer to join our team and play a key role in our digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, configuring, and deploying Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and implementing real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions. They will ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems, develop and maintain secure data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols, and manage industrial databases for high availability and performance.

  • Design, configure, and deploy Ignition SCADA and MES applications.
  • Architect and implement real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain secure data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
  • Manage industrial databases for high availability and performance.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in SCADA engineering within the manufacturing industry.
  • Mandatory proven expertise with Ignition SCADA and Inductive Automation, including scripting module configuration and project deployment.
  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with OT-IT integration technologies.
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity.
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication.
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA HMIs, and plant floor connectivity.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards such as ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms such as Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization such as Docker, Kubernetes for SCADA MES deployments.
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • Certifications in Ignition, Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications.
