Job Title: Senior Cloud Operations Engineer
About the Role:
Basware's Products, Cloud Engineering and Operations business function is responsible for ensuring that our customers receive industry-leading SaaS solutions to simplify operations and spend smarter. This global function creates and executes the product strategy, new product innovations, roadmap, design, product development, and product launches for Basware's global product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage mission-critical processes that ensure the integrity of the service, such as Release Management, Problem Management, and Change Management according to the defined internal ITIL adhering process framework.
- Drive and coordinate the development of new processes and coordinate Service Quality Improvements.
- Be the go-to-person for managing significant service events such as outages, security incidents, releases, audits, where technical domain knowledge and strong communications skills are required.
- Train, coach, and guide junior engineers.
- Coordinate with other engineers taking a lead role in critical operations cases such as release deployments, outages, handling problem investigations, production service changes, and development of new processes.
- Coordinate with different stakeholders from other internal business functions for inputs, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting issues, and follow-ups.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in a Technology field with at least 6 years of experience in Cloud Operations supporting production environments and IT management.
- Experience in handling production servers, Release, Change, Problem, and Incident Management.
- Experience in troubleshooting complex platform and infrastructure issues.
- Proven analytical and investigative skills.
- Self-sufficient, with a pro-active attitude and ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
- Inclination towards problem solving and quality improvements by identifying scalable and robust corrective and preventative actions, fixes.
- Experience working in ITIL practices.
- Experience working with and coordinating cross-functional teams operating across different regions and time zones.
- Proficient English language skills.
Technical Competencies:
- Incident Management tools – ServiceNow
- Project Management tools – Jira
- Documentation tools – Confluence
- Monitoring tools – Nagios, Splunk, Dynatrace
- Cloud Platform – Good understanding of Amazon Web Services
- Operating systems – Linux/Unix, Windows Server
- Database – Oracle, MS SQL
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline.
Good-to-have Competencies:
- Automation Skills using PowerShell, Python, etc.
- Microsoft Azure Cloud platform
- Database – MongoDB
