File Engineering Executive

Key Responsibilities

Detailed Overview

  • Design and format various documents including brochures, reports, and manuals to meet client requirements.
  • Maintain consistency in alignment, fonts, styles, and branding across materials.
  • Handle multilingual typesetting, ensuring linguistic accuracy for regional and RTL languages.
  • Prepare print-ready files, adhering to high-resolution outputs and printer specifications.

Software Proficiency

  • Work with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, MS Office, and other DTP tools.
  • Evaluate compatibility with translation software (SDL Trados, MemoQ, and CAT tools).
  • Perform DTP tasks for RTL languages (Urdu, Arabic, Persian/Farsi) across mentioned software platforms.

Linguistic & Regional Language Expertise

  • Demonstrate command over at least one regional language or one RTL language.
  • Cross-check formatting, alignment, font rendering, line breaks, and directionality in LTR and RTL content.

Quality Assurance

  • Verify translation accuracy, grammar, and contextual integrity across content.
  • Validate adherence to translation memory (TM) and glossary usage, correcting inconsistencies.
  • Document and report quality issues, providing feedback for continuous improvement.

Team Collaboration

  • Closely coordinate with translators, proofreaders, and project managers.
  • Understand client-specific requirements and provide tailored solutions.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in DTP or linguistic QA roles.
  • Proficiency in: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, MS Office.
  • Strong understanding and working experience in RTL language DTP workflows.
  • Skilled in quality checking translated documents and ensuring localization accuracy.
  • Proficient in at least one regional or RTL language.
  • Experience with CAT tools and QA tools.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
