Job Opportunity

The Project Director position is a pivotal role within our organization, driving the successful implementation of a comprehensive safety transformation project for a leading steel company across India.

Initially based at the Gujarat site, the Director will spearhead the planning, direction, and execution of all aspects of the transformation program, encompassing construction safety activities and operational safety transformation initiatives at designated sites.

The Project Director will cultivate a robust safety culture by exemplifying exceptional leadership, communication, and engagement skills with key stakeholders.

  • Foster collaboration with client top management to resolve issues effectively for the implementation of safety measures at site.
  • Lead change management and establish a clear communication plan for the project.
  • Promote regular and consistent communication about the project to internal and external stakeholders via physical or digital channels.
  • Provide timely reporting on project roll-out status, budget, capacity plan, and key parameters.
  • Encourage best practices in safety as part of project implementation.
  • Communicate challenges and support requirements to clients for effective project implementation.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make course corrections when necessary.
  • Assess team performance and provide feedback to management (team size: 50-60 people).
  • Organize a platform for learning lessons and deploy knowledge in the project.
  • Manage construction safety and operational management at site.
  • Maintain close ties with clients to understand their safety expectations, requirements, and standards. Ensure these are integrated into the project safety management system.
  • Collaborate with clients for safety planning, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety across the site.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety consciousness among all project stakeholders, promoting a proactive approach towards safety.
  • Convene committee meetings, discussing safety performance, challenges, and strategic decisions.

This role requires minimum consulting experience of 5 years, preferably in large steel plants. Overall experience must be greater than 20 years.

International Experience: Preference given to expats from the UK, Europe, Australia, or the Middle East.

Range: 45 - 55 years.

Initial contract duration: 2 years, with a strong possibility of extension.
