Scientific Publishing Leadership Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven leader to oversee our scientific manuscript publication process.

This role will involve managing cross-functional teams across peer review, content writing, and video production to ensure efficient publishing operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the publication teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality scientific publications.
  • Oversee the complete manuscript workflow from peer review to publication, ensuring adherence to journal standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI to optimize workflows and improve the author experience.
  • Define team KPIs and departmental goals, and ensure accountability.
  • Ensure scientific rigor and editorial excellence are maintained across all published content.
Requirements
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences.
  • 10+ years of experience in academic, scientific publishing or edtech content production, specializing in managing publication workflows.
  • 7+ years of proven management experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating technology and digital tools to improve publishing workflows, quality, and efficiency.
