Product Owner - Payments Solutions

To succeed in this role, you will need to take ownership of discovery processes, gathering business, customer, and system requirements, developing a deep understanding of pain points, and designing solutions to meet those needs that can then be translated to our development teams for execution and delivery. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the payments ecosystem, payment technology integration, and have experience with agile methodologies. Our Product Owners work with technical teams as a critical conduit in conveying business objectives, vision, and expected outcomes sprint-by-sprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Become a recognized subject matter expert on the functions and uses of the platforms you support, spanning transaction processing, account maintenance, and reporting.
  • Participate in the product discovery process, conduct customer research, gather insights from stakeholders, and synthesize data, applying various techniques and tools to generate and validate product ideas aligned to customer problems.
  • Support, drive, and socialize the product roadmap, prioritizing work to deliver the right business value at the right time.
  • Gather and search large technical/business documents and data sets to find important information that translates to requirements or supports research and troubleshooting activities.
  • Create supporting materials such as workflow diagrams and wireframes to effectively communicate business objectives, concepts, requirements, and acceptance criteria to your development team, ensuring successful end-to-end delivery of solutions.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality, and complete requirements in the form of epics, features, and user stories.
  • Own the development backlog and prioritize effectively by balancing strategic product roadmap deliverables with incoming business and user needs, in addition to critical support items raised.
  • Actively manage scrum planning activities and agile ceremonies, encouraging self-organization and management.
  • Help to set product goals, key results, and metrics (OKRs) for product success and monitor progress towards achieving them.
  • Work collaboratively with go-to-market teams in the planning and coordination of releases to ensure successful product launches.
  • Assist with continuous product planning process, working with cross-functional teams to align on product priorities, managing dependencies, and defining delivery plans.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product or business analysis roles at high-growth organizations, ideally with experience in the payments and/or fintech spaces.
  • Demonstrated success supporting product and/or development strategies, defining, documenting, developing, and launching platform capabilities and products.
  • Experience working with APIs, front-end and back-end architecture, and UX, within regulated industries, adhering to legal, risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Able to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to make and explain decisions while managing multiple initiatives at different stages, prioritizing effectively, and managing time wisely to achieve objectives.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with ability to manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience driving priorities and collaboration cross-functionally.
