Job Title: Head Communication and External Engagement

Arthan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our external engagement and communications efforts. As the Head of Communication and External Engagement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our communications strategy, building and managing our communications team, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, donors, and media.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Build and manage a high-performing communications team, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, donors, and media, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
  • Develop and disseminate high-quality content, including press releases, social media posts, and other external communications materials.
  • Manage public events, including conferences, workshops, and other events, to promote our work and engage with stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely reporting on the impact of our communications work to external stakeholders.
  • Recruit, manage, and mentor team members as per their Terms of Reference.
  • Support other verticals in the visibility of events through appropriate channels, support in production of high-quality publications, and conceptualizing content in all possible formats for high-level events.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Mass Communication or a related field with at least 12 years of proven experience.
  • Solid understanding of gender equality in India and South Asia.
  • Experience in video and graphic production, journalism, media relations, or creative writing and editorial management is required. Mixed/diverse experiences are preferred.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and network building is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, with a keen interest in research, policy, and implementation action.
  • Ability to learn quickly from multiple subject areas and be a team player with excellent managerial and people skills to mentor and motivate other team members.
  • Willingness to travel as required and to remote places.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Hindi.
