Job Title: Senior Technical Superintendent

This senior leadership role is a strategic opportunity to oversee the technical management and operational performance of merchant vessels. The successful candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations, manage budgets effectively, and lead shipboard teams in staff development and motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Management and Operations: Oversee all aspects of technical management and operations, ensuring compliance with international marine requirements.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance: Ensure that all HSE requirements are met, including regular audits and risk assessments.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets for multiple vessels, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Develop and lead shipboard teams, focusing on staff development, motivation, and retention.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including crew members, vessel owners, and other industry partners.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Qualified Marine Engineer degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a senior technical role, preferably as a Chief Engineer on Merchant Vessels.
  • Skills: Strong technical and managerial skills, business acumen, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
