Principal BIM Modeller Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal BIM Modeller to play a crucial role in creating detailed and accurate Open Building Designer drawings and models for bridge structures. As a key member of the civil engineering team, you will work closely with engineers and clients to ensure the successful completion of bridge projects from inception to completion.

  • Develop detailed and accurate bridge design and construction drawings using Bentley software, following project specifications, engineering standards, and codes.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and provide technical support during the design and construction phases of bridge projects.
  • Create 3D models and visualizations of bridge structures to assess design feasibility and communicate ideas to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and update 3D model and drawings as needed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established project deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Proven experience as a Principal BIM modeller in the civil engineering field, preferably with a focus on bridge design and construction.
  • Proficiency in using Bentley software (Open Bridge modeller, MicroStation, etc.) and an understanding of 3D modeling techniques.
  • Strong technical and mathematical skills, with the ability to accurately interpret and analyze engineering drawings and specifications.
