Role Description

This position involves the management of high-value and complex accounts to ensure timely recovery of outstanding payments. A combination of strong negotiation skills and analytical approach is required for early identification of at-risk accounts.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing their own portfolio, mentoring junior professionals and improving overall collection performance and credit discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collections Management: Ensure maximum recovery from a portfolio of priority accounts with overdue balances.
  • Credit Risk Monitoring: Review payment history and account behavior to identify potential defaults.
  • Escalation Handling: Manage complex cases involving disputes, bounced payments or high-risk clients.
  • Mentorship & Support: Provide guidance to junior professionals on collection strategies, risk flags and client engagement techniques.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all interactions, agreements, recovery actions and risk indicators in the system.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with various teams to resolve disputes, review payment terms and align recovery efforts with business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; diploma or relevant certification in finance, business or collections is an advantage.
  • 3–5 years experience in collections, receivables management or credit control, with exposure to credit risk assessment.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and conflict resolution skills.
  • Persistence and resilience in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities under pressure.
