Estimating Role

The Estimator is responsible for preparing comprehensive capital cost estimates, advising on building economics and tendering procedures.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing detailed capital cost estimates
  • Offering expert advice on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements
  • Developing contract packages including guidance on amendments to standard forms
  • Creating pricing documents for tender packages
  • Providing strategic guidance on tendering procedures
  • Formulating instructions to tenderers
  • Designing tender evaluation criteria
  • Constructing PQQ questionnaires
  • Commercially evaluating all tender submissions and negotiating with tenderers
  • Identifying amounts due to contractors for price variations
  • Determining amounts of claims
  • Preparing and submitting monthly Cost Reports

Desirable qualities:

  • Relevant degree or Chartered QS certification from a recognized institution
  • Strong understanding of the QS & cost management processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other industry-standard software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure
  • Capacity to collaborate with other staff and departments across Global offices located in the US
  • Self-motivated individual who is detail-oriented and able to work independently
