Water Resources Specialist

The Tata Steel Foundation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited, instituted to co-create solutions with tribal and excluded communities. The organization aims to create an enlightened and equitable society through its programmes.

This role focuses on applying knowledge of engineering technology and agriculture science to resolve problems in the water, land & farm sectors. Key deliverables include:

  • Conducting site surveys for watershed development projects
  • Designing and cost estimating soil and water conservation measures
  • Formulating, planning, implementing, and monitoring watershed and climate-proofing projects
  • Developing project plans with local communities and stakeholders
  • Coordinating with government agencies and organizations to obtain necessary approvals and permissions
  • Providing technical assistance and training to local communities and partners
  • Supervising the construction of structures required for watershed development
  • Monitoring and evaluating project progress and making adjustments as needed
  • Collecting and analyzing data related to soil and water quality, vegetation cover, and crop yields
  • Preparing and maintaining project MIS for tracking progress and review by management and other stakeholders

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and result-oriented, and have a collaborative approach. Strategic thinking and decision-making skills are also essential. A minimum qualification of B.Tech/M.Tech in Agriculture/Civil Engineering from a reputed Institute is required, along with 3-8 years of relevant experience.
