Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to lead our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) strategy. The successful candidate will develop and implement initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with business objectives.
  2. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  4. Analyze incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  5. Develop emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
  6. Design and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
  7. Track and report on key HSE performance indicators and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Foster a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance through initiatives such as audits, inspections, and benchmarking.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.
  2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in HSE management preferably in the metal & mining industry.
  3. Approved Safety officer certification.
  4. Strong knowledge of Factory Act, Environmental guidelines, HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  5. Experience in green field/brown field expansion projects.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
