Job Summary:

The Production – Fabrication role is accountable for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency. The position involves managing a team of operators and welders, optimizing workflow, and coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless production.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning & Execution:
  • Oversee fabrication activities to meet production schedules.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor workflow to ensure efficiency.
  • Evaluate availability of raw materials and tools for smooth operations.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Ensure all fabricated components conform to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections and address any quality issues.
  • Implement corrective actions for defects and non-conformities.
  1. Team Management:
  • Lead and motivate a team of fabricators, welders, and operators.
  • Train and develop employees on best practices, safety, and quality standards.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and resolve shop-floor issues.
  1. Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Maintain proper handling of tools and equipment.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Detect areas for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Integrate Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
  • Pursue improvements in welding, cutting, and assembly processes.
  1. Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain daily production reports, material usage records, and downtime logs.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams for equipment servicing and repairs.
  • Report production delays and issues to management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing is necessary.
  • A strong knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Arc), CNC cutting, and bending is essential.
  • Experience in managing a team and overseeing shop floor operations is required.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems is beneficial.

Key Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills are crucial.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities are vital.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and fabrication blueprints is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills are required.
  • Knowledge of ERP software and MS Office is beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in welding or fabrication is desirable.
  • Experience in heavy metal fabrication or precision engineering industries is an advantage.
