Job Title:

Casualty Management Specialist

About the Role:

This position plays a pivotal role in coordinating and mitigating losses arising from marine incidents, including vessel fires, collisions, groundings, and weather damage. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless communication and information flow between various stakeholders, including Operations, Commercial teams, and external networks such as P&I insurers, lawyers, and salvage traders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate incident response efforts, focusing on minimizing losses and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide timely information, guidance, and support.
  • Handle legal disputes, negotiations, and dispute resolution in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Manage relevant documentation, costing, assessing, summarizing, and maintaining folders related to incidents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in maritime studies or law or related field.
  • Previous experience in a legal department within a ship owner setup, carrier, or P&I club.
  • Familiarity with Maersk systems, MS Office, Case Management, RKEM, GCSS, GSIS, and SAP BI.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
