Polarion Expert - ALM Configuration & Systems Engineering

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Polarion expert with deep technical and process knowledge in configuring, customizing, and rolling out Polarion ALM solutions across systems engineering domains. The ideal candidate will bring expert-level Polarion configuration skills, combined with strong domain expertise in the V-model, automotive or battery system development, and experience working in SAFe-based agile teams.

The selected individual will be responsible for end-to-end management of requirements, validation, release management, and safety & product documentation within Polarion. Key responsibilities include configuring and tailoring Polarion ALM to support project-specific requirements, test planning, validation, release, and documentation workflows, designing and implementing processes, workflows, traceability matrices, and custom templates aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and company-specific quality frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement processes, workflows, traceability matrices, and custom templates aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and company-specific quality frameworks.
  • Lead the rollout of Polarion solutions across international teams, including training, documentation, and end-user support.
  • Develop and maintain test concepts, oversee test operations, and provide 2nd and 3rd level support for Polarion tool-related issues.
  • Manage safety-relevant documentation and ensure regulatory traceability for compliance in automotive/battery systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment following the SAFe framework (10-week Program Increments).
  • Support and coach users across departments (Engineering, Quality, IT) to effectively utilize Polarion features for their use cases.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess 5+ years of hands-on experience with Polarion configuration, workflow implementation, and process customization. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and V-model methodologies for requirements engineering, validation, change management, and release planning is required. Experience integrating Polarion with tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, Doors, Teamcenter, or other ALM/PLM systems is also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Polarion Solution Architect or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of battery systems, e-mobility, or autonomous vehicle development life cycles.
