Senior Proposal Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Sales Enablement team as a Lead Specialist – Proposal Specialist. This role involves managing the production of high-quality RFP responses for Mercer's US Wealth business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing proposals support and independently managing draft production for US-based stakeholders, delivering high-value drafts and demonstrating a strong understanding of the RFP life cycle.

The individual will work closely with the pursuit team to resolve open items during the proposal development process, ensuring timely completion of proposals with expected quality parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proposal Management: Build knowledge and understanding of the Wealth business, service offerings, and strategic priorities; review RFPs and other client materials to gain complete understanding of client requirements;
• Content Development: Create proposal templates aligned with client requirements and company branding standards; collaborate with proposal project managers to prepare competitive proposals and RFP/RFI responses, including researching, writing, compiling, and editing content using internal resources to ensure consistent messaging;
• Communication and Stakeholder Management: Hold master drafts of proposals by incorporating edits and sending out revised drafts to the strategists/pursuit team; ensure regular and prompt communication with key stakeholders for RFP acknowledgements, knowledge sharing sessions, analysis discussions with strategists;
• Process Improvement and Quality Assurance: Assist in developing templates, improved systems, and processes for measuring RFP success; conduct content management activities, including collecting and updating content for proposal language database and extracting best practice content;
• Training and Coaching: Provide training and coaching to new hires in the team.

Requirements:

• Postgraduate or graduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics preferred; other postgraduate degrees may also be considered;
• 5-8 years of experience in pre-sales/bid management environment;
• Experience working as part of bid teams in a professional services environment;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;
• Exceptional customer service focus;
• Advanced business writing ability with outstanding grammar and proofreading/editing skills;
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
• Good relationship skills, proven ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team;
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience on sales lifecycle and content/proposal management tools like Salesforce, Qvidian, SharePoint, etc.;
• Demonstrated understanding of financial/wealth/investment markets preferred;
• Experience directly dealing with senior internal stakeholders preferred;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
