About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Category Specialist to spearhead our jewellery category. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive sales growth, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in category management, merchandising, and buying to lead our jewellery category to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and buying teams to ensure timely and cost-effective product launches.
  • Analyse market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
  • Optimize product assortment, pricing, and inventory levels to maximise sales and profit margins.
  • Work closely with marketing and design teams to create engaging campaigns and visual merchandising plans.
  • Maintain accurate categorization and visibility of products across all platforms.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice on category-related matters to internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or buying, preferably in jewellery or fashion retail.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of consumer behaviour.
  • Excellent project management and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and e-commerce platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of product lifecycle, inventory turn, and pricing models.
  • Familiarity with product content enrichment (A+ content, infographics, model imagery).
  • Knowledge of precious and semi-precious stones, particularly diamonds.
