Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Manager

At Wholsum Foods, we are on a mission to revolutionize the way people eat. We seek an exceptional Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead our sourcing initiatives and ensure the right materials are available at the right cost, time, and quality.

The successful candidate will have a strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration. They will be responsible for building and managing a strong vendor base, developing procurement strategies, and collaborating with R&D and NPD teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and packaging materials.\
- Build and manage a strong vendor base aligned with quality, cost, and service expectations.\
- Collaborate with R&D and NPD teams to ensure timely onboarding of vendors for new materials and packaging innovations.\
- Lead price negotiations, contractual agreements, and drive cost-saving initiatives across the procurement portfolio.\
- Establish procurement KPIs (OTIF, cost, lead time, inventory health) and drive regular reviews with internal and external stakeholders.\
- Implement best practices in vendor evaluation, material planning, and purchase order processes.\
- Monitor market trends for key raw materials and packaging inputs to forecast price movements and manage budgets.\
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.\
- Own the digitization and streamlining of procurement processes via ERP and relevant procurement tools.\
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.\
- Provide strategic input to business growth initiatives and contribute to the development of business cases.\
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes and practices.\
- Manage and report on procurement metrics and performance indicators.\
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.\
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and achieve company goals.\
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in procurement and sourcing.\
- Contribute to the development of procurement policies and procedures.\
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.\
- Lead and motivate a team of procurement professionals to achieve business objectives.\
- Develop and implement training programs for procurement staff.\
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.\
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.\
- Improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations.\
- Reduce costs and improve profitability through optimized procurement strategies.\
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and colleagues.\
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.\
- Present information in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.\
- Travel occasionally to meet with suppliers, attend industry events, and conduct site visits.\
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and tasks as required by the business.\

- Manage and maintain accurate records of procurement activities.\
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key procurement metrics.\
- Communicate results and insights to stakeholders.\
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.\
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.\
- Continuously assess and improve procurement processes.\
- Align procurement strategies with business objectives.\
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with financial goals.\
- Develop and execute plans to optimize procurement spend.\
- Strengthen relationships with existing suppliers and negotiate new contracts.\
- Streamline procurement processes to reduce cycle times and increase efficiency.\
- Implement e-sourcing tools to enhance procurement capabilities.\
- Collaborate with IT to implement digital procurement solutions.\
- Review and analyze procurement data to identify areas for improvement.\
- Investigate potential new suppliers and vendors.\
- Develop and implement controls to ensure compliance with regulations and laws.\
- Oversee compliance with trade agreements, regulations, and supplier code of conduct.\
- Communicate procurement strategies and results to senior management and other stakeholders.\
- Provide recommendations for future-proofing procurement strategies.\
- Coordinate communication with internal stakeholders, such as production and logistics teams.\
- Research industry trends and best practices to stay informed about procurement methodologies.\
- Develop and propose short-term and long-term goals for the procurement function.\
- Collaborate with HR to develop and maintain job descriptions, employee competencies, and job specifications.\
- Ensure that procurement is represented in cross-functional project teams and working groups.\
- Collaborate with external partners to source innovative materials and products.\
- Provide expertise in supplier relationship management.\
- Develop and implement strategies to promote diverse and inclusive supply chain practices.\
- Support the development of a sustainability-focused supply chain.\
- Take ownership of own personal development and stay up-to-date with latest industry trends and methodologies.\
- Seek feedback from managers, peers, and direct reports to improve leadership and management skills.\
- Consider the broader implications of purchasing decisions and integrate ESG considerations into procurement activities.\
- Develop and communicate a compelling procurement vision and strategy to stakeholders.\
- Engage with supply chain leaders to share knowledge and best practices.\
- Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in procurement systems and processes.\
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and measure the success of procurement initiatives.\
- Engage with stakeholder to understand their needs and priorities.\
- Deliver high-quality services that meet or exceed customer expectations.\
- Anticipate and resolve issues that could impact procurement operations or disrupt supply chains.\
- Facilitate learning and professional development opportunities for team members.\
- Participate in peer review sessions to share experiences and learn from others.\
