Strategic Procurement Leader

Job Summary:

The role of Strategic Procurement Leader is to oversee procurement operations for raw materials, mining equipment, and services required for efficient mining and processing activities. This position involves developing procurement strategies tailored to the minerals and mining industry.

  • Developing and executing procurement plans that meet business objectives and minimize costs.
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts for equipment, spare parts, explosives, fuel, and other mining-related consumables.
  • Building and maintaining vendor relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure timely supply and cost savings.
  • Monitoring market trends, commodity prices, and logistics costs to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Ensuring inventory planning in coordination with operations and warehouse teams.
  • Evaluating supplier performance based on quality, reliability, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensuring all purchases comply with statutory requirements, safety norms, and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Mining Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7-10 years of procurement experience, with at least 4-5 years in the minerals/mining sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mining equipment, spare parts, raw materials, and international trade regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management, and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety, statutory compliance, and sustainability practices in mining.
