Procurement Leadership

The role of Head of Procurement is pivotal in ensuring the seamless supply chain for a leading manufacturer of Chlor-Alkali chemicals.

This strategic position demands an individual who can develop and execute sourcing strategies that drive cost-efficiency, quality, and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key spend categories including raw materials, solvents, catalysts, packaging, and engineering supplies.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Identify, assess, and develop suppliers (domestic and international), lead negotiations, and manage long-term agreements to ensure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
  • Cost Optimization & Budgeting: Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and process improvements, prepare and monitor procurement budgets, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Inventory & Supply Assurance: Collaborate with production and planning teams to maintain optimum stock levels while minimizing working capital, ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production disruptions.
  • Team Leadership & Process Improvement: Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, drive digitalization and automation of procurement processes using ERP systems.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and company compliance standards, identify risks in the supply chain and implement contingency plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within the chemical/process/manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
