Machinery Operations Engineer in Food Manufacturing

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Machinery Operations Engineer to join our team in the food manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor machinery used in nutraceutical manufacturing as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Set up, calibrate, and adjust machines to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain product quality standards during machine operations in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
  • Record machine operating data, production outputs, and downtime logs accurately.
  • Ensure material feeding, changeovers, and line clearance are carried out as per requirements.
  • Report and escalate equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or abnormalities promptly.
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities in coordination with the engineering team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment following Good Hygienic Practices (GHP) and safety standards.
  • Assist during audits, inspections, and documentation verification.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in machinery rectification/maintenance within Nutraceuticals, Food Manufacturing, or Pharmaceuticals.
  • Hands-on experience with blending, granulation, encapsulation, filling, or packaging machines is required.
  • Exposure to food technology processes (mixing, drying,) is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong understanding of machine operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality control, and hygienic practices.
  • Familiarity with GMP, GHP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and regulatory guidelines (FSSAI/ISO).
  • Ability to conduct and document in-process checks accurately.
  • Attention to detail, ownership, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, QA, and maintenance teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (B.Tech preferred).
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO 22000.
  • Experience in supporting product development or scale-up trials.
  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
