Job Overview
This role is part of our Commercial and Solution Analytics (CSA) practice, which assists buyers and service providers with pricing decisions in outsourcing arrangements. The practice advises buyers on optimizing their sourcing spend by providing fair market price comparable for outsourced services, understanding delivery cost structures, and rationalizing IT BPO portfolios. On the supply-side, we help providers by providing price benchmarks vis-a-vis peers, identifying improvement opportunities in delivery capabilities, understanding competitive operations, and improving win-rates in outsourcing deals.
The role is focused on providing insights to our clients on optimizing the pricing and commercial terms of their key enterprise software licenses. The individual should be able to lead analysis and problem-solving, manage clients, develop team members, shape new services/capabilities, and work with senior leadership and marketing to take new capabilities to market. The role reports directly into the VP/Partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead client mandates by executing against agreed milestones through team analysis, reporting, and client syndication.
- Work with senior executives to develop complex and compelling scenarios, enabling them to solve strategic software license commercial issues.
- Maintain software license benchmarking databases (including metrics related to pricing, T&Cs, performance metrics, etc.) with oversight from practice leaders.
- Support database updates and contribute to Business Development via proposal shaping, client walkthroughs, responding to RFPs, seeding opportunities, creating thought leadership artefacts, and partnering closely with sales and marketing teams.
- Manage middle to senior stakeholder groups as clients.
- Supervise team activities and actively participate in professional development, growth, and mentoring of team members.
- Foster practice growth by assisting in hiring and managing a team of analysts.
- Assist other teams with pricing/contracting-related inquiries and projects as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a highly competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous paid time off.
Requirements
We are seeking a high-caliber individual with 6-9 years of experience in sourcing advisory or IT advisory firms, preferably with exposure to pricing and commercial engagement approaches of multiple enterprise software types. Strong understanding of preferred commercial models adopted by enterprises, applicable discounting slabs and scenarios, negotiation levers, module-based pricing, and usage patterns observed across subscription, perpetual, and other licensing models is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong relationship orientation, ownership, and leadership traits are essential. An MBA is preferred but the right experience is more important.
