Job Title: Safety In-Charge - HSE and Training Support

The primary objective of this role is to develop and implement effective Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies across the site or organization. This entails ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting regular training sessions, monitoring risk factors, and promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish and enforce company HSE policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  2. Conduct thorough site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments on a regular basis.
  3. Identify and report unsafe acts, incidents, and near misses in a timely manner, followed by corrective actions.
  4. Coordinate incident investigations and root cause analysis to determine underlying causes.
  5. Maintain accurate HSE documentation, safety records, and compliance reports.
  6. Support environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with local environmental regulations.
  7. Assess training needs and develop comprehensive safety training schedules and content.
  8. Deliver induction programs for new employees and subcontractors, focusing on safety protocols and expectations.
  9. Provide regular toolbox talks, safety drills, emergency response training, and refresher courses to enhance knowledge and skills.
  10. Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve HSE training programs to meet evolving requirements.
  11. Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific safety regulations and guidelines.
  12. Prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities as required.
  13. Collaborate with project site managers and department heads to develop and implement effective safety strategies.
  14. Act as a key point of contact for safety-related issues across the site project, providing guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in construction, energy, manufacturing, or utilities.
  • Proven track record in delivering safety training and conducting risk assessments.
Essential Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to handle emergency situations and conduct thorough incident investigations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HSE software tools.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence safety behavior and promote a positive safety culture.
