Assistant Manager Job Description

This role is responsible for managing a team of collectors who coordinate the follow-up of delinquent accounts related to non-payment or denied payment by insurance companies and patients/guarantors.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a team of collectors
  • Establishing and growing strong working relationships within the team and with other local staff
  • Ensuring compliance with revenue cycle management policies
  • Participating in team building activities and motivating team members
  • Training, guiding, and enhancing performance techniques to improve team performance
  • Managing claim processing, dental exchange inventory, and metrics to ensure processing controls are in place
  • Explaining Benefits, Payment Information, Insurance Verification results, and Denial information to determine potential resolution of accounts
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients, offices, insurance companies, and other departments
  • Coordinating further collection activity with the Audit Department, Collections, and Office Management
  • Maintaining a database of root causes for outlier accounts and providing status of accounts in a timely manner
  • Adhering to corporate policies and procedures
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with staff at all locations
